SSUP Party’s Good Governance Campaign 2019-12-06 Building the Banadir Regional Council of the SSUP Party and the Election of the Mayor of Mogadishu as the Chairman of the SSUP Party. Shadow-Government (Preparing for Government Leadership) 2020/2021
On December 6, 2019, the SSUP Party launched a campaign to build the Banadir Regional Council and elect the Mayor of Mogadishu as the Chairman of the SSUP Party.
As of November 28, 2019, we had successfully completed the establishment of the Banadir Regional Council in all 17 districts of Banadir region. The SSUP has dedicated nearly 2 years to building these 17 district councils. Thanks to God, we have now moved on to building at the regional level and then the national level, following the global standard governance structure of local, regional, and national levels.
Today, December 6, 2019, the Chairpersons of the 17 district councils of the SSUP Party met. The agenda of the meeting was:
- Listening to the performance of the Chairpersons of the 17 districts. Discussing the registration of SSUP party members.
- Appointing an independent electoral committee to establish the Banadir Regional Council.
- Listening to a brief report from Federal Parliament Member Abdifatah Kasim on the election process and the type of elections expected to take place nationwide in 2020/2021.
- Listening to Director Yusuf Omar’s account of the various stages he has gone through in Banadir region, and his encouragement and motivation for the youth.
- Listening to the Head of Research and Development of the SSUP Party, Dr. Hashim Mahad, who reported on how they managed to establish the 17 districts of Banadir region in 2 years.
- Finally, a thank you and prayer from the Chairman of the SSUP Party, Mr. Yaasiin Maaxi Macalin.
The SSUP is currently implementing the laws of the country and the directives of the Independent National Electoral Commission of Somalia, which require political parties to prepare for the upcoming national elections in 2020/21 and obtain official certification. The SSUP is committed to working towards its slogan, “The Good Governance Campaign.
