The Party

Introduction

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. We hereby declare that this document is the program of the Somali National Unity Party, which was legally approved at the party’s second congress on June 28-29, 2008, in Sweden. The party’s program is written in both English and Somali and will be translated into other languages.

All of the party’s goals outlined in the party program require further elaboration, which is detailed in the party’s implementation plan, clearly outlining the objectives of each goal. The implementation plan is not attached to the party program because it is an internal document.

Finally, we would like to thank all party members for their moral support wherever they may be. In particular, we thank those members who have consistently dedicated their time, energy, and ideas to the party, carrying values and social progress. We also encourage everyone interested to join the Somali Social Unity Party and tell them that we are ‘the party the Somali people have been looking for’.
